- Ronald James Schulz, age 64, of Niagara Falls, was called by his Lord and Savior on
February 2, 2021 to join family and friends in his everlasting heavenly home. Ron was born Oct. 20, 1956 to Erwin and Helen (Demsky) Schulz. He attended schools in North Tonawanda and Tonawanda, graduating from Tonawanda High School in 1974. He served
in the U.S. Air Force from 1976 until March 4, 1984. Ron was predeceased by his parents, his daughter Moriah from his first marriage, his in-laws, Reverend Lawrence and Betty Herfurth, and his brother in-law, John Elzer. Ron married Jane Herfurth on October 5, 1986. They adopted their loving adopted daughter from Guatemala, Katelyn Suzanne, at the age of 8 months in July 1993. Ron is survived by wife, Jane, daughter Katelyn (and Jeff) Pantano (and granddog Nugget), sister Barbara (Joe) Elzer Michno, sister Linda Gullo, brother-in-law John Herfurth and several nieces and nephews; Dena, Kim, Jeff, Samantha, Jenna, Lucietta, Dominic, Tony, Deanna, Katharine and Mark. Ron was so looking forward to the birth of his first grandchild this summer. Ron was employed as a Quality Engineer at various local companies, beginning at Trico and retiring from Caplugs. Ron loved most sports, especially football. He played football while in the Air Force. He also enjoyed camping, boating, golfing and fishing. Friends were always welcome to stop by for a campfire. Traveling with family and friends gave him great enjoyment, along with his Harley and 63 Harley T-shirts that he bought throughout his travels. Ron was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church, where he was involved in the music program and served on the Board of Elders.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to Grace Lutheran Church 736 Cayuga Dr. Niagara Falls, NY 14304 or St. John Lutheran School, 6950 Ward Rd. North Tonawanda, NY 14120. Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd. in North Tonawanda on Monday from 3:00 - 6:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home beginning at 6:00 PM. The family wishes to share that due to Covid they understand if friends are unable to attend at this time.
