- Obituary of Beth Holly Wells
Beth Holly Wells, 60, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away peacefully at home June 25, surrounded by her immediate family and close friends after a long, courageous battle with melanoma cancer. Born in Tonawanda, NY, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Norma (Everett) Wells. Beth graduated from Trott Vocational High School in 1978 as a student of cosmetology. She worked as a pharmacy technician for many years at Rite Aid in Niagara Falls, and most recently at St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston. She also worked at various other places, as she had relocated to Arizona, Michigan and then Florida with her beloved fiancé, the late Richard Barnes. Beth was very active with Niagara County Girl Scouts as a troop leader from Brownies to Cadettes, passionately involved for her daughters. Teaming up with another troop, she worked for two years fundraising for an educational trip to Gettysburg, PA, Norfolk Naval Base, Williamsburg, VA along with fun times and great memories at Virginia Beach and Busch Gardens. In her spare time, she was an avid crafter. Beth joined her friends weekly for craft night. She also enjoyed sewing and needlepoint. Most importantly, Beth spent her life devoted to her daughters and grandchildren. Beth is survived by her daughter, Wendy Brosius; grandsons Christopher Brosius, Jordan Robinson, and Eann Robinson; great grandson Armani Robinson; brother David (Kathleen) Wells; stepbrother Roger (Sue) Stone, nephews Jeremy, Paul, Robert, and Adam; nieces Jennifer, Stacy, Norma and Carmen; sisters-in-law Sharon and Marty, many cousins, her lifelong friends Cheryl, Laurie and Kim, as well as her loyal dog Jade. Beth is also survived by her predeceased daughters partner Michael Grover, and family. She is predeceased by her daughter, Christine; fiancé Rick Barnes; nephew Michael; niece Alice; sisters Sharon and Leslie and brothers James and Robert. The family would like to express a special thank you to the caring and compassionate staff at Niagara Hospice, especially her nurse, Kim. Also, those at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, and Dr. Hashmi who provided such wonderful care for her from the beginning of her journey until the very end. Private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.
