Ralph “Red” Orsi, 89, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on January 18, 2022 at his residence. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Lorenzo and Gina (Del Ghingario) Orsi.
Red attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. He began working at the Nabisco plant in Niagara Falls until he joined the United States Army in 1952. On June 25, 1955, he married his beloved wife, Nancy S. (Corsaro) Orsi at Mt. Carmel Church. Nancy passed away on September 15, 2020 after 65 memorable years together.
Red was employed as an installer with Bell Telephone Company (formerly New York Telephone Company) for many years prior to his retirement. Following his retirement, he continued to stay active and worked as a Funeral Assistant with the M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel.
Red was a devout Catholic and longtime parishioner of Prince of Peace Church. He was an excellent basketball player in his younger years and enjoyed exercising. He also loved to go to the Casino and play cards with his friends. Above all, Red enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mr. Orsi is survived by his son, Mark (Karen) Orsi and was predeceased by his daughter, Laura (Patrick Conte) Zuccari. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Shanel (Travers) Orsi, Camille Orsi, Kayla Orsi, Tara (Christopher) Casey, Nicholas (Amanda) Zuccari and Vincent (Jessica) Zuccari; seven great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. In addition to his daughter and parents, Red was predeceased by his great-grandson, Anthony Orsi, and his siblings, Nellie (Richard) Huryn, Olga (Carmen) Battista, Annie Katynski, Emma Platts, Carrie Spots, Lawrence Orsi, Aldo Orsi, Paul Orsi and Joseph Orsi.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 22 at 10:00 AM in St. Vincent De Paul Parish at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 N. Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, concluding with Military honors. Arrangements by M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel.
