- Lloyd R. Cadwallader, 98, formally of the Town of Niagara, passed away on November 20, 2020 at Greenfield Health Center, Lancaster, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late George E. and Rose (Conrad) Cadwallader.
Mr. Cadwallader was an extremely proud and dedicated veteran of the Army of the United States. He enlisted on November 6, 1942 where he served as an electrician. He departed for the European Theater on October 21, 1943 and served in Europe until he returned to the United States on October 23, 1945. While stationed in Europe, he participated in the Ardennes, Normandy, Central Europe, Northern France and Rhineland battles and campaigns. For his military service he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and European African Middle Eastern Service Medal. Upon returning home, he received his Honorable Discharge.
Mr. Cadwallader was the loving husband of the late Pauline T. (Sostarich) Cadwallader whom he married on March 2, 1946 in her hometown of Chicago. They remained happily married for sixty-eight years until her death on September 9, 2014. Upon returning to Niagara Falls, Lloyd centered his life around his wife and children while working as an electrician for 35 years for the E.I. Dupont Company in Niagara Falls before retiring. While not working and raising his family, Lloyd enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Lloyd is survived by his children Lloyd R. (Ruling) Cadwallader, Marie (late William) Eckert, Dennis P. (Haeng Cha) Cadwallader, Joseph (Cindy) Cadwallader, and James J. (Beverly Hess) Cadwallader. He also survived by 12 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Anne (late Clarence) Wright and was predeceased by 4 siblings.
