NORTH RIDGE-An attractive
fall wedding was solemnized in St.
Peter's Lutheran church at North
Ridge Saturday afternoon, September
21, when Miss Leona Donner,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert
Donner, of the Million Dollar highway,
became the bride of Harold
Wilkins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer
Wilkins, of North Ridge, town of
Cambria.
At 4 o'clocl the bridal party en-
tered the church to the strains of
Lohengrin's Wedding march, payed
by Mrs. Fred Seabert. the cere-
mony was performed by the Rev.
Carl w. Oldach. White gladioli,
dahlias, palms, ferns and a variety
of fall flowers were used as decora-
tions.
The bride who was given in mar-
riage by her father, wore a dress of
white heavy slipper satin with long
sleeves, a long sweeping train and
a square yoke of Chantilly lace and
inserts of lace in bodice. Tiny but-
tons fastened the back of the bodice.
Her veil of illusion fell from a tiara
of orange blossoms and she carried
an oval shaped bouquet of orchids,
white roses, pom poms and shower-
ed with lilies-of-the-valley. Her
only jewelry was a double strand of
pearls, the gift of the groom.
Miss Edna Wilkins, sister of the
groom, was maid of honor and
bridesmaids were Miss Crystal
Geartz and mrs. Elton wilkins.
The junior bridesmaid was Miss
Norma Schendel and the little flow-
er girl was Miss Genevieve Hillman.
Gerald Brewer acted as ring bearer.
The maid of honor was attractive-
ly gowned in blue faille taffeta
fashioned on the same lines as that
of the bride, the full skirt forming
a short train. A pink wreath with
matching velvet ribbon worn in her
hair extended down the back. Her
slippers were of matching color.
She carried an arm bouquet of
flowers, which consisted of pink
roses, white mums and pom poms
tied with pink satin ribbon.
Miss Crystal Geartz was gowned
in choral faille taffeta, wearing a
blue wreath in her hair with match
ing ribbon extending down the back
and Mrs. Elton Wilkins wore orchid
faille taffeta wearing a yellow
wreath in her hair with matching
ribbon extending down the back.
the gowns being fashioned the same
as the maid of honor. Their slippers
were of matching color.
Miss Norma Schendel wore pink
taffeta and Miss Genevieve Hillman
wore peach taffeta with bows and
ribbons in their hair. Each wore a
double strand of pearls, a gift of
the bride, and carried an arm
bouquet of roses and mixed flowers.
The little ring bearer wore a royal
blue velvet suit with white blouse.
The best man was Van Miles and
the two ushers were Wallace Carl-
ton and Elton Wilkins.
During the ceremony Delbert
Schultz sand "O Perfect Love" and
"The Lord Is My Shepherd." The
mother of the bride ws gowned in
dubonnet velvet with matching ac-
cessories, wearing a corsage of mix-
ed flowers and the grom's mother
wore hunter's green crepe with
black accessoried and a corsage of
mixed flowers.
A reception was held at the Park
hotel, Lockport, where dinner was
served at 7 o'clock to 150 guests, 23
being seated at the bride's table.
The bride's table was centered with
a three-tiered wedding cake, topped
with a miniature bride and groom.
Later Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wil-
kins left on a short eastern trip the
bride traveling in an oxford gray
suit with dubonnet accessories,
wearing a corsage of orchids.
After October 1 they will reside
at their new home on the Million
Dollar highway.
Guests were present from Buf-
falo, Lockport, Brockport, Niagara
Falls, North Tonawanda, Ransom-
ville, martinsville, Newfane, Wilson
and North Ridge.
Pre-nuptial affairs were a linen
shower, given by Miss Edna Wil-
kins; a bathroom shower, by Mrs.
Clifford Demmin and Mrs. William
Strassburg; a variety shower, by
Mrs. Elton Wilkins; a one-piece gift
shower, by Mrs. Herbert Schultz,
including the Sunday school staff
and a black and white kitchen
shower given by Mrs. Clarence Hill-
man.
