- Mrs. Mary Snell, Supervisor's Widow, Dies in Buffalo
Mrs. Mary Snell, 92, widow of a former Town of Pendleton Supervisor, died Monday (Aug. 30, 1956) in a Buffalo hospital after an illness of several years.
Born Aug. 3, 1864 in Pendleton, she was the daughter of Mathias and Dorothy Hartel Wendel, and spent the greater part of her life in that area. Her husband, an active Democratic insider and former supervisor, town clerk, and highway superintendent, died about 21 years ago.
Mrs. Snell was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Reformd Church, Wendelville, and the Ladies Aid Society.
Surviving are one son, Homer P. Snell, and two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence E. Ball and Miss Erna M. Snell, all of Pendleton; onebrother, H.P. Wendel, Lockport, and four grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday afternoon at 2:30 in Gaul Funeral Home, 263 East Ave., with the Rev. Karl M. Kindt, St. Paul's Church officiating. Burial will be in Bear Ridge Cemetery.
