Leonard Patrick Lewis, lifetime resident of Niagara Falls, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025. He was 76. He was born in Niagara Falls on March 17, 1948, a son of the late Leonard T. and Noreen (Colyer) Lewis. He attended local schools and graduated from LaSalle Senior High School in 1967 and then worked at Carborundum until 1969. In 1969 he entered the United States Army, serving in the Military Police in Missouri until his honorable discharge on 1971.
Leonard then attended Niagara County Community College where he received a degree in criminal justice leading him to his career as a guard at the Niagara Falls Air Force Base from where he retired.
Lenny was a devoted member of Forestview Church of God on Saunders Settlement Road and was an avid hunter and outdoorsman.
He is survived by his sister Betty (Richard) Brown of Billings, Montana, his brother Michael (Sandy) Lewis of Brooksville, Florida, his sister Judith (late Charles) Ellsmore of Niagara Falls, his longtime companion Nancy Figler of Fort Erie, Canada and many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Linda Charnley.
Graveside services, with military honors will be held in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, 5871 Military Road, Lewiston, New York 14092 on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 11 A.M. followed by burial alongside his parents.
