- With heavy hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of Peter Congi "Hawk", age 81, in Pompano Beach, FL, on Friday, October 22, 2021. Peter was born on November 21, 1939, in Niagara Falls, NY, to Lucy (Sarro, Congi) Domorat and Peter Congi (both deceased).
Peter was a graduate of Trott High School and a proud member of Laborer's Local 91 for over 50 years.
Peter (aka, The Hawk) was a champion card and pool player, winning many local and national tournaments, one-pocket being his favorite game. Peter enjoyed traveling, and was a great patron of the arts and music. He was always eager to share stories of the many people and places he visited, and the friends he made along the way. Peter had friends from many walks of life and was always warm and inclusive to all. He will also be remembered for his love of Italian food; he made his own pasta with homemade sauce and meatballs.
Survived by his brother, Frank (Jane) Congi, Sr.; his nieces and nephews, Linda (William) Grace, Frank (Janine) Congi, Jr., Kim Congi (Dale Dibble), and Vincent Congi; great-nieces and great-nephews, Jaclyn, Adam, Lauren, and Mathew Grace, Joel, Zachary, and Christopher Congi, Elijah Congi; and great-great-nephew, Angelo Grace.
A private service will be held in Niagara Falls, NY, at the convenience of the family.
