Cosmo C. ‘Tom’ Buccarelli, 93, of Niagara Falls, NY, entered into rest on November 23, 2022 at Mount St. Mary’s Hospital, Lewiston, NY. Born on May 10, 1929 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Cosimo Buccarelli and the late Mary (nee D’Amuro) (late Giuseppe ‘Joe’) Frisco. On November 28, 1964, Tom married the former Phyllis J. Serrianne in the former Our Lady of Lebanon Church.
Mr. Buccarelli proudly served in the United States Army, during the Korean War, from February 12, 1951, until his honorable discharge on February 4, 1953. Tom completed his reserve obligation on October 8, 1956. While serving, he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Star Attachments and the United Nations Service Medal. For 45 years, Mr. Buccarelli worked as a Process Control Specialist for Occidental Chemical Corporation, formerly Hooker Chemical, until he retired. Tom was a proud veteran to fly the American flag daily, and loved helping his family and spending time with his grandchildren. He was also a NASCAR fan.
In addition to his beloved wife of almost 58 years, Mr. Buccarelli is survived by a daughter, Debra Ann Buccarelli; sons, Thomas (Marcie) Buccarelli and Nicholas (Joelle) Buccarelli; grandchildren, Casey, Justin and Nicholas, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Fira and Reid and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, Tom was predeceased by his first wife, Josephine (Henriquez) Buccarelli and siblings, Phyllis Gonzalez and Nicholas Buccarelli.
The family will be present to receive friends on Monday, November 28th, from 3-6 p.m., at the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007), where his funeral service will follow visitation at 6:00 p.m., with Rev. Robert Hughson officiating. Private prayers of committal and interment will be held on Tuesday in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY, concluding with Military Honors.
