- Frank Gregorski, 93, of Niagara Falls, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 10, 2022. The son of the late Joseph and Julia (Kobas) Gregorski, Frank was born in the home his father built on Welch Avenue and lived there his entire life
Frank attended Niagara Falls High School. After graduating, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1946 and served until his Honorable Discharge in 1949. Frank was very proud to serve on his ship, the USS Cacapon, and enjoyed his time in the Navy. Upon returning home, he met Kathryn Jakubowski and it was love at first sight. They married on October 6, 1956, and had five children. They were married for 65 years until Kathryn "Kay" passed away on December 25, 2021.
Frank's grandchildren were the light of his life and he cherished every moment spent with them. He spent countless hours planting and caring for his large garden. His favorite times were spent just sitting on the front porch with his wife, Kay, greeting everyone who walked by. He was the "Anchor" of Welch Avenue. Frank retired from DuPont.
Frank is survived by his daughters, Ruth (John) DelZoppo, Julia Gregorski, Kathryn (Peter) Zabel, Judy (Sam) Gatto, and his son, Frank (Laurie) Gregorski; grandchildren, Teagen (Jed) Clement, Alex (Maria) Gregorski, Sara (Jack) Horning, Jacquelyn Gatto, Sadie Petito, John DelZoppo and Matthew Zabel and great-grandchildren, Aliana, Kaleb, and Jack. He is also survived by his brother, Richard (Patricia) Gregorski; sisters-in-law, Florence Gregorski, MaryAnn Mari, and Stephanie Boos and many nieces and nephews. Frank was predeceased by his sister, Clara Palka, and brothers, Joseph (late Lottie) and Edwin Gregorski.
