- John Manfredo, 95, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Born in Niagara Falls, he was the son of the late Frank and Caterina (D’Ippolito) Manfredo.
John proudly served in the United States Army during World War II until his honorable discharge. On June 19, 1948, he married Dorothy (Biamonte) Manfredo, at the former Our Lady of Lebanon Church. Mrs. Manfredo recently predeceased him on February 24, 2022 after 73 years of marriage.
John was employed for 30 years as a truck driver and baker at DiCamillo’s Bakery in Niagara Falls, and later worked as a truck driver for both Dairylea and Wendt’s Dairy. John was a devout Catholic and longtime parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church. John enjoyed working around his house and yard, baking pizza and easter bread, and cooking pasta. Above all, John, like his beloved wife, Dorothy, centered his life around his family, and cherished the times spent together during family gatherings.
John is survived by his children, Robert Manfredo, John Manfredo, Patricia Manfredo, Kathleen (James) Montanaro and Judith (late James) Trombley; his grandchildren, Katie Oldfield, Robert (Megan) Trombley, Elizabeth Scott, Christina Trombley, John (Summer) Montanaro and Michael Montanaro; his great-grandchildren, Madison, Allison, Calvin, Giovanni and James; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his siblings, Dominic (late Virginia) Manfredo, Mary (late Samuel) Scrivano, and Joseph Manfredo.
John’s Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 19 at 10:30 AM in Holy Family Parish at St. Joseph’s Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Holy Family Parish. Arrangements by M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel.
