Vida Raduns, 93, years of age of Akron, New York entered into rest September 7, 2010 in Newfane Inter Community Hospital Newfane, NY following a lengthy illness. Born in the Town of Royalton on February 2, 1917, she was the daughter of the late George and Ida (Wolters) Karcher.. Vida served as valedictorian for the class of 1936 from the Akron High School. She enjoyed being a homemaker. Vida also served as the Secretary for her late husband's auction business Norm Raduns Auctioneers. Mrs. Raduns was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church Wolcottsville, NY. She was a dedicated member of the church serving at one time on the Dorcus Society. She also was a member of the Town of Royalton and Newstead Historical Societies. Vida enjoyed playing bingo, cooking and making cakes and decorating them for all occasions. Dear wife of the late Norman Raduns, who died on September 4, 1994. Loving mother of Thomas (Penny) Raduns of Akron, NY and Nancy (Myron) Washil of Hamburg, NY; cherished grandmother of five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Vida was also predeceased by her twin sister, Viva Pogel; also surviving are nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Friday in the CHILDS FUNERAL HOME, 10 Eckerson Ave., Akron, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 AM in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6369 Wolcottsville Rd., Wolcottsville, NY. Rev. Emily Frank, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in Mrs. Raduns' memory be made to the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church at the families, request.
