  Niagara Falls Gazette, Jul 12, 1927 Carl Springer, 85 years old, husband of the late Louise Sprenger, died yesterday noon after a lingering illness at his home in 130 Cramer street. Mr. Sprenger was born in Germany where he served in the Prussian wars of 1866-70 and 71 and before coming to this country, 41 years ago. The deceased is survived by six sons, William, Fred, Herman, Charles. Ernest and Richard, all of the Tonawandas; one daughter, Mrs. Anna Holland, twenty-one grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.The funeral services were held this afternoon, at two o'clock from the house and half hour later at St. Matthews' church in Wheatfield street, the Rev. Carl Frankenstein officiating.
