  oyce Speirs Roeser-Heuer, of the Town of Wheatfield, NY, was called to her heavenly home on July 3, 2022. Born in Middletown, NY on August 13, 1933; daughter of the late William and Helen (Merritt) Speirs. She earned her nursing degree, and worked for Dr. Herman Brezing. Later she was a school nurse, in the Niagara Wheatfield School District, for 13 years before retirement. Joyce was a Cub Scout den mother for Pack 852 in Bergholz. She was a long time member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Bergholz, where she was active with the Altar Guild. Joyce loved traveling to Florida every winter to their timeshare, going on cruises with her husband, traveling with the Wheatfield Seniors on trips, marched in her German costume with the Bergholz German Band, in many parts of the United States and Germany.Preceded in death by her first husband, Lothar Roeser in 1998; and a son, Edward D. Roeser. Survivors include her husband, James D. Heuer; three children, Susan (Edward) Standora, Paul (Ada) Roeser, and Daniel (Anne) Roeser; four step-children, Michael Heuer, James (Bernadette) Heuer, Catherine (Arthur) Pittman, and Rebecca (Robert) Carroll; three brothers, Edward (Else) Speirs, Earl Speirs, and John (Karen) Speirs; twelve grandchildren, Paul (Sarah) Hutchins, Adrienne (Aaron) Knight, Timothy (Christine) Hutchins, Michelle (Matthew) Wolinski, Bonnie (Aron) Miller, Nathan (Tracy) Roeser, Luke (Ali) Roeser, Gabe (Hannah) Roeser, Elizabeth (Nathan) Moryc, Andrew (Stephanie) Roeser, Patrick (Elizabeth) Roeser, and Christina Roeser; and thirteen great-grandchildren.Friends may call at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield, on Wednesday (July 6) from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Denton White, on Thursday (July 7) at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, corner of Niagara Road and Luther Street in Bergholz. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Holy Ghost Altar Guild, Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, or Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
