- OBITUARY
Roger Allan Nevison, a longtime resident of Niagara Falls, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022. He was born on March 7, 1933, the son of Charles W. and Bernice (Hebner) Nevison. He served his country with great pride in the U.S. Army Company M 511th Airborne Infantry Regiment during the Korean War. He then served in the National Guard for three years. He was a member of the American Legion, LaSalle Post 1142.
He was employed by several area companies. After 25 years, he retired in 1998 from J.P. Metal and Fabrication formerly A.R. Brady as a Foreman and Welder.
Roger always believed in working hard and supporting his family. He was an early riser who was always active. He enjoyed going to the gym daily and walking in the gorge in his younger years. Roger enjoyed having a drink with friends, talking about sports. He loved spending Sundays with his dear grandchildren and morning coffees at the Sunshine Café with his friend, Lisa Routhier.
He is survived by his daughter, Lorraine A. (late Vaden) Coffey; grandchildren, John (Lisa) Johnson; Vaden (Melissa) Coffey; Jennifer (Dee) Langenfeld; Roger A. Nevison III; Michael and Christopher Nevison; 7 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Shirley (McKenzie) Nevison in 2006; a daughter, Sharon L. Rybarczyk; a son, Roger Nevison; two brothers, Bernard and Bill Nevison and a granddaughter, Joanna Johnson Walos.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, where Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 AM. The Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to Disabled American Veterans Association.
