- John J. Sicoli, 91, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on November 1, 2022 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Born in Niagara Falls, New York, he was the son of the late Giovanni ‘John’ and Constance (Rizzo) Sicoli.
John was raised in Niagara Falls and attended local schools. He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict from 1951 until his honorable discharge in 1954. On October 15, 1955, he married Norma A. Sicoli. Mrs. Sicoli recently predeceased him on October 16, 2022.
John was employed as a millwright for 17 years with International Paper Mill and Kimberly Clark and later worked in the same capacity at Carborundum Corporation. John also worked for the City of Niagara Falls with the Junkbusters. He was a member of the ISDA Lodge. John enjoyed daily coffee club with his friends at McDonald’s, as well as spending time with his friends at DMR Hardware. He enjoyed playing baseball in his younger years, as well as golfing, and was a season pass holder at Hyde Park Golf Course.
John is survived by his children, Daniel (Lori) Sicoli and Nancy (John, Superintendent, NFPD) Faso; his grandchildren, Allison Sicoli (Josh Hysert), Matthew Faso (Gabrielle Licastro), Natalie (Philip) Gigliotti, Samantha (Kyle) Laughlan, and Maria Faso, NFPD; his great-grandchildren, Oliver Gigliotti, Eli Gigliotti, and Lena Laughlan, as well as several loving and adoring nieces and nephews. In addition to his loving wife of 67 years, he was predeceased by his siblings, Louis (late Mary A.) Sicoli and Rita (late Dominic) Cesari, Jr.
John’s family would like to extend a special thank you to his loving and caring aides Kim and Laura for the compassion shown to him, their mother, and the family.
Private services will be held for the family, with entombment with Military Honors in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
