Linda D. Hausknecht, age 72, passed away on August 9, 2025, after a long illness. A progressive thinker and avid reader, Linda embraced life with curiosity and compassion. She was a devoted grandmother who cherished her retirement years surrounded by family.
Beloved wife and best friend for 53 years to Walter A. Hausknecht. Loving daughter of the late Donald and Edna Sokol. Cherished mother of Eric (Melissa), Kathryn (Jeremy), and Karyn (Joshua). Proud grandmother of Ella, Jack, Ally, Ben, and Jerald, and great-grandmother of Noah. Dear sister of Gary (Anne Marie) and Donald (Terri). Linda will be deeply missed by many other loving relatives and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, August 21, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Fretthold Funeral Home, 1241 Oliver Street, North Tonawanda. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, August 22, at 11:00 AM, followed by interment at Acacia Park Cemetery.
