- Krista Snell Obituary
Krista Snell of Barker, NY entered into rest on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at
home after a two-year battle with cancer. She was born in Newfane, NY on
January 3, 1969, daughter of Richard and Barbara (Heidemann) Austin; mother of
Michael and Daniel Snell; sister of Steven (Mindy) Austin and Brian (Kelly) Austin;
and aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. Krista is also survived by her former
husband, William Snell, of Middleport, NY.
Krista earned her bachelor’s degree at SUNY Cobleskill and worked as a Loan
Officer and Appraiser at Farm Credit East for 30+ years. She loved raising her boys
and engaging in multiple hobbies, including bee keeping, gardening, harvesting
maple syrup, raising pigs and chickens, wreath making, crocheting, camping and
spending time laughing and telling stories with family and close friends.
Family and friends may call at the Rutland-Corwin Funeral Home, Inc. 2670 Main
St. Newfane, NY on Thursday, December 7, 2023 from 4-8pm. Funeral services will
be held on Friday, December 8, 2023 at 11am in St. Johns Lutheran Church 10213
Roosevelt Hwy, Lyndonville, NY 14098. Burial will be in Somerset Cemetery. In
lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Niagara Hospice or St. Johns Lutheran
Church.
