- James M. "Mike" "Zeke" Cindric, of the Town of Wheatfield, finished the 18th hole, on Friday, February 9, 2024, at Niagara Hospice House, Lockport, NY. He fought until the very end like he lived his life: with dignity, grace and a stubborn determination to spend just one more day with those that loved him most. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY on February 24, 1948, a son of the late Louis M. and Daisy [Bell] Cindric. As a young man, he loved hunting, fishing, motorcycles and fast cars. Zeke graduated from Niagara Wheatfield Senior High School and served with the US Navy. He began his 30 year career at Harrison Radiator in Lockport as a tool and die maker before being promoted to a C&C operator. Zeke enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, his cottage at Rushford Lake and golfing. He was a true jack of all trades, master of many and loved helping others. If he was not working on his own projects for, who he always called, “the love of my life”, Gerry, he was helping a family member or friend with theirs. While Zeke enjoyed many activities, he was most passionate about his wife, children and grandchildren. As a father, there was no job he would refuse or overtime passed by. This allowed his two girls, Rebecca and Kristina, to live a life that was filled with dancing lessons, pretty dresses and Caribbean vacations. Once blessed with grandchildren, “Grampy” would never say no to another boat ride, tossing the ball with his best friend, Easton (his one and only grandson) or taking any of his four granddaughters to breakfast. Zeke lived his life simply and without apologies. He will be missed more than he can ever imagine. Zeke is survived by his wife of 51 years Gerry [Bailey] Cindric, two daughters Rebecca (Anthony) Tantillo and Kristina (Frank) Colavecchia, five grandchildren Sofia, Stefania, Justina, Stellina and Easton, his step mother Lenore Cindric, siblings Mark (Diane) Cindric and Bonita (John) Bargel, a special nephew Barry Cindric, also many other nieces and nephews. Zeke was the brother of the late Raymond Cindric. His family will be present on Friday, February 16 from 1-3 and 5- 8 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY, where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM, with longtime family friend, the Rev. Zachariah Presutti, SJ., who was gracious enough to come from Manhattan, New York, to be with us. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in honor of his last days spent in the care of Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY, 14092
