- Robert J. Seider, age 89, of Ransomville, NY, entered into eternal rest with his family by his side on Monday, July 8, 2024, at Erie County Medical Center, Buffalo, NY. Robert was born on May 30, 1935, in Springville, NY, the son of the late Joseph and Winifred (nee Emerling) Seider. He married the former Rose Caffarelli in 1963. Bob served in the US Navy and Navy Reserves from 1953-1957. After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Ceramic Engineering from Alfred University, he earned his Master’s Degree from Rutgers University. In a career of 55 years as a research scientist, he obtained 19 patents for fuel additives and abrasive materials. He retired from Washington Mills as a Research & Development Ceramic Engineer.In addition to being an inventor, he was also a master craftsman. He built, owned and managed Niagara Woodlands, a 172-site family campground. He personally hand constructed with his sons 6 family homes, two proto-type wind turbines, a 25-foot cabin cruiser, several R/C airplanes and a chiropractic apparatus bench, to name just a few.He was a hard worker his entire life. After retiring, he cut trees, split wood and farmed with his sons on the family acreage.He lived a full life with a passionate focus on family, faith, and his country.Besides his parents, Bob is predeceased by his caring siblings James Seider and Joyce (late Douglas) Baye.Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years Rose Seider; loving sons, Stephen (Stacey) Seider, Mark (Lisa) Seider, Thomas (Michelle) Seider and Daniel (Darcie) Seider; cherished grandchildren, Marissa, Brandon, Joseph, Nicholas, Julia, Sara, Joshua, Michael, Anna, Connor, Alexia and Meghan; dear sisters-in-law, Ann Seider and Patricia Belcastro; also survived by many nieces and nephews.Arrangements by the HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES, INC. Services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
