James J. Faso, 62, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on October 31, 2024, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Frank and Elizabeth “Betty” (nee Volpe) Faso. Jim married his wife, Maria F. (Rosati) Faso, on November 12, 2005 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Jim was employed with Riverfront Custom Design in North Tonawanda as a craftsman, making custom cabinets and countertops for 12 years. Most recently, he worked as a foreman for the Niagara Falls Housing Authority for 5 years. He enjoyed woodworking and was very skilled both professionally and as a hobbyist. In his downtime, Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, taxidermy, tinkering and playing the drums. He especially enjoyed the time spent at his cabin in New Hudson, NY. He was very attracted to aviation, and was a member of the Niagara Falls Sunday Flyers RC Plane Club and was an aviator and took flying lessons. A true jokester, Jim will be remembered for his sense of humor, but the most important thing to him was spending time with his loved ones.
In addition to his wife of 18 years, Jim is survived by his children, Nicholas (Caitlin) Faso and Marisa A. (Bradley) Connors; grandchildren Valerie, Neil, Vivian, and Nathaniel Faso and, John, Eleanor, and Madeline Connors; his siblings Frank (Kathy) Faso, Jr., John (Nancy) Faso, Ret. NFPD Chief, and AnneMarie (Rand) LaBend; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 8 from 10 – 11 AM at Cornerstone Church, 1290 Whitehaven Road, Grand Island, NY 14072, where services will begin at 11 AM. Flowers are gratefully declined. For online condolences visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
