- Amelia Nardelli, 96, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 25, 2024 surrounded by her beloved family. Born in Atina, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Enrico and Restatuta (Tambura) Volante.
Amelia was the loving wife of the late Vincenzo ‘Jimmy’ Nardelli, whom she married in their hometown of Atina, Italy, in 1944. They immigrated to Niagara Falls in 1956.
Known for her soft, gentle, and warming personality, Amelia touched the hearts of many. She was a was an excellent cook and loved to crotchet. She was also a devout Catholic and longtime parishioner of Mt. Carmel Church. Above all, Amelia found great joy in spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Amelia is survived by her children, Gerald (Cathy Williams) Nardelli, Mario (Cheryl) Nardelli and Silvana (William) Castiglione; her grandchildren Gerry (Joanne) Nardelli, II, Stephanie (Raymond) Browder, Trina (Robert) Pool, Gina (William) Vona, Noelle (Eric) McGuire, Cara Nardelli, Valerie (Matt) Castiglione and Bill (Krys) Castiglione; fourteen great-grandchildren; her sister, Jean (late Anthony) Ranalli, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Anthony (Theresa) Volante.
The family wishes to thank Amelia’s caretakers, Shannon, Heather and Judy for their unwavering love and support.
Amelia’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 27 at 12 Noon in Mt. Carmel Church, 27th Street and Independence Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice. Arrangements by M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel.
