Filosofos, Denise, November 25, 2024, born August 30, 1955, of Grand Island and Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Beloved daughter of the late Teddy and Jackie Filosofos. Beloved sister of Argerous and Michael (Cindy). Pretty Aunt Denise (PAD) to a number of nieces and nephews including Michael, Sevaste Hauser (Todd) and baby Gannon Hauser and Theo (Brooke). She is also survived by a number of cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was affiliated with the Susan G. Komen Organization for more than 20 years, earning the Love Award. She was also active with The American Cancer Society and Relay for Life where she was awarded Survivor of the Year for this year. She was a active member of St. Demetrios Church in Ft. Lauderdale as well as St. George Church in Niagara Falls. Born and raised on Grand Island, she served as a Court Clerk for the Supreme Court in Buffalo for 34 years, retiring in 2010 to help take care of her parents. Denise split her time between Ft. Lauderdale and Grand Island. She cherished her time in Ft. Lauderdale in her newly built home. Family will be present on Monday December 2 from 2-8 PM at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church 1073 Saunders Settlement Rd, Niagara Falls, where a Funeral Service will be held Tuesday December 3 at 10 AM and then burial at St. Stephen’s Church Cemetery on Grand Island followed by a Celebration Dinner at St George Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Demetrios Church 820 NE 14th Ave., Ft Lauderdale FL 33301 or St. George Church 1073 Saunders Settlement Rd., Niagara Falls, NY 14305.
