- Of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024, in the Schoellkopf Health Center. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on August 4, 1943, the daughter of the late Thomas M. and Irene [Nowacki] Thomas.
Mrs. Ziolek moved to Niagara Falls with her family as a child and was a graduate of Madonna High School.
With a career in food service, she was the food manager at Niagara University for many years and also had a catering business. She and her husband Gary owned and operated Ziolek Bakery for many years until they moved to Vermont where she continued in food service with Price Chopper , until retiring.
Mrs. Ziolek, moved back to Niagara Falls in 2009. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Elks Lodge 346, the Eastern Star and with the Sweet Adelines.
She was the wife of the late Gary S. Ziolek who passed away in 2009.
Mrs. Ziolek is survived by her son Gary Jude Ziolek, sister-in-laws Diane (John) Siuta, Elaine (Frank) Sirianni, Fran (David) McLuckie, cousins Jo Ann Regan and Martha Dowling, also several nieces and nephews who she was very close with.
Her family will be present on Thursday December 12th, from 12-2:30 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY, with funeral services to follow at 2:30 PM, with the Rev. Stewart Lindsay, O.S.F.S. officiating.
Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made in her name to Roswell Park Alliance Foundation.
