- Marilyn Ann Brown, 88, peacefully passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Kenmore Mercy Hospital in Buffalo, NY following a brief illness. Born August 29,1937 to Chester & Matilda (Warblow) Gaeth. A 1955 graduate of North Tonawanda High School, Marilyn also attended St. Mark Lutheran school. Marilyn was a devoted servant of the Lord and a lifelong member of St. Mark Lutheran Church where she served as the long-term treasurer, as well as choir member and member of The Women of St. Mark and LWML. In addition to the St. Mark choir, Marilyn was a former member of the Advent Vespers Choir and joined them many years to celebrate the season and birth of our Lord. Marilyn dedicated 20+ years of her life as an employee of the City of North Tonawanda where she made many long-lasting friendships. Marilyn enjoyed spending time with high school and city hall friends and attending monthly lunches. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with family.
Marilyn is survived by her sons, T. Michael (Jo Ann), Richard (Kelly) and Robert (Amanda) Brown. She was a loving and devoted mother. Additionally, she is survived by eight grandchildren, Emily, Hannah, Rachel, Emma, Thomas, Vicki, Alec and Matilda and three great-grandchildren, Felix, Zoe and Juniper. Marilyn was a compassionate and caring grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Thomas and brother Chet. Marilyn is also preceded by her long-time companion, Adam DeSimone.
Friends and Family are welcomed to call at the Fretthold Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 18th from 3:00 – 7:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Wednesday, November 19th at 11:00 AM at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 1135 Oliver St., in North Tonawanda, N.Y.
