- Robert L. Gorko, age 82, of the City of Tonawanda, suddenly, November 13, 2025. Robert was a U. S. Army Veteran and served as a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division. He had retired as a journeyman plant maintenance mechanic for Habasit Belting of Buffalo, and had also worked for Worthington Compressor in Buffalo. Robert loved to hunt and fish; he also enjoyed cooking. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast. He was the son of the late Matthew and Emily (Urbanski) Gorko. Beloved husband and best friend for 26 years of Cynthia (nee Birke) Gorko. Proud and loving father/stepfather of Jacob (Brittany) Gorko, Alexander Derby, Victoria (Richard) Carhart, and Eric (Alexandra) Derby. Adored Grandpa of Griffin, Graham, Paisley, and one on the way. Son-in-Law of James (late Eleanor) Birke. Brother-in-law of Deborah Birke, Gregory (Pamela) Birke, and the late Nicholas Birke. Brother of the late Daniel Gorko and the late Paul (late Antonie) Gorko. He is also survived by other family and friends. Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc., 1241 Oliver St., at Ward Rd. in North Tonawanda on Tuesday from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 AM from St, Joseph University Parish, 3269 Main St., Buffalo, NY. Date and time of graveside services at Mt.
