- Gerald Evert Life story
Gerald J. Evert, 55, of Grand Island, NY, passed away on December 17, 2025, at his home, while under the care of Hospice Buffalo. Born on November 18, 1970 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of Eileen (Keaty) Evert and the late Lee A. Evert and the late Gerald J. Patruno and the husband of Rena Pelenio.
Gerald graduated from LaSalle High School. He attended SUNY Morrisville, RIT and Daemen University. Gerald was an avid reader and athlete and loved spending time with his family. In the face of adversity, he remained resilient, succeeding in raising his son with great diligence.
In addition to his mother and his wife of 32 years, Gerald is survived by a son, Jobe Pelenio-Evert; siblings, Karin (Peter) Pellegrino, John (Jennifer) Evert and Jennifer (Vance Wilson) Gregson; 7 nephews and 2 nieces.
All are welcome to gather for visitation on Tuesday, December 23rd, from 4-7 p.m., at the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME AND NIAGARA COUNTY CREMATION CARE, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007), where Gerald’s funeral service will follow visitation at 7:00 p.m., with Rev. Laura Norris-Buisch officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Hospice Buffalo
