Evelyn M. Wagner Harris, 80, of Remington, died at 7:10 a.m. Monday, June 8, 2009, at Home Hospital, Lafayette.
She was born Sept. 26, 1928, in Wolcott, to the late John and Nealla Mathew Wagner. A 1946 graduate of Wolcott High School, she was a lifelong resident of the Wolcott/Remington area.
In December 1954, she married Jack Harris in Remington, and he died in March 1975.
Mrs. Harris was a bank manager for Farmer's National Bank of Remington from July 1955 until 1987.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Remington and the Altar and Rosary Guild.
Surviving are three sisters, Lucille Perkins and Helen Perry (husband: William), both of Kentland, and Margaret Limp of Redondo Beach, Calif.
Also surviving are a sister-in-law, Dula Meiser of Morocco; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Edward, Donald and Russell Wagner.
Visitation 4-8 p.m. (EDT) Thursday, June 11, 2009, with a 4 p.m. Rosary service at the Stitz Funeral Home, Remington.
