- Rachael (Young) Walter died Thursday, October 8,2009 under Hospice care in Austell, Georgia. She was born in Niagara Falls, New York December 1952, daughter of Wilfred and Frances (Steele) Young. Rachael attended schools in Niagara Falls, New York, finishing in Niagara Wheatfield Senior High School. She married David Walter in 1970 in Niagara Falls, NY. Work related, they lived in Alaska, Vermont, State of Washington and later in Stone Mountain then Marietta, Georgia. With their interest in the arts and crafts, Rachael and David opened an Arts and Supplies store in Marietta where framing pictures was their special project. She loved the view from their large back porch where tending flowers and watching birds and squirrels were a special treat. Rachael was predeceased by her mother, Frances Louise Knab. She is survived by her husband, David; loving son, Jerold Walter of Atlanta, Georgia; her father, Wilfred and step-mother, Diana Watts Young of Niagara Falls, NY; and step-father, Donald Knab of Niagara Falls, NY; her sisters, Patricia (Steven) Hurd of Steinhatchee, Florida, Christine (Ronald) Grawe of Jonesborough, Tennessee, Judith (Samuel) Godwin of Hopkins, South Carolina, Janet (Michael) Neuman of Niagara Falls, NY; brothers, Charles (Christine) Young of Ashburn, Virginia, Kenneth Young of Sebring, Florida and Michael Young of Niagara Falls, NY; step-sisters, Bronwyn (Wayne) Bridges of Coldspring, Texas, Bette Lynn (Robert) Deshler of Niagara Falls, NY, Robert (Deborah) Watts of Hiram, Georgia, E. James Watts of Niagara Falls, NY; step-sisters Beth Knab of Niagara Falls, NY, Candace (Jay) Stillwell of Sylmar, California, Judy (Lou) Vona of Las Vegas, Nevada and Karen (Dick) Ludbrook of Tampa, Florida. She is sadly missed by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A memorial celebrating her life was held at her home in Marietta, Georgia.
