- Alexander Szabad
Passed away peacefully, December 7, 2017,
at the age of 88. He was born in Romania July 25, 1929, son of the late George and Rose Szabad. Alex moved to Canada and then to the United States in 1958.
Husband of the late Sylvia (nee Wain) Szabad; loving father of
Lisa Sommer and David (Catherine) Szabad; proud grandfather of Eric, Chelsea, Kristin, Marisa, Kelsey and Alexandra; brother of Anne (late John) Tamas and late Mike Szabad; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Mr. Szabad retired from Olin Chemical. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed traveling with his late wife. Alex was a member of the Grand Island Golden Age Center.
He is best remembered for his passion for his family.
Friends may call Friday ( December 15) 4 to 8 PM at the
WATTENGEL FUNERAL HOME, 533 Meadow Dr. North
Tonawanda where Funeral Services will be held Saturday (December 16)
at 10:30 AM. Entombment Elmlawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice
or Grand Island Golden Age Center.
