Mr. and Mrs. Norman D. Martin,
Townline Rd., Sanborn, announce the
engagement of their daughter, Miss
Linda S. Martin, to Edgar H. Townsend.
Mr. Townsend is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Donald E. Townsend, 25th St.
A spring wedding is planned.

A WEDDING TRIP to Washington. D.C.. is
being taken by Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Townsend
and his bride, the former Miss Linda Martin,
who were wed Saturday evening (April 29. 1961).
Rev. Paul Hartenberger officiated at a candlelight
double-ring ceremony at Trinity Lutheran
Church. Milton Freer was soloist, accompanied
bv Walter Kittel at tlhe organ.
THE BRIDE is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Norman D. Martin, Townline Road. Sanborn. The
bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald
Townsend. 25th Street.
Given in marriage by her father, the former
Miss Martin was attired in a gown of rosepoint
lace styled with Sabrina neckline, long sleeves
and full skirt of lace and net ruffles. The gown
extended into a chapel-length train.
A crown of pearls, and crystals held her threetiered
scalloped veil, and she carried white roses
and stephanotis surrounding a white orchid.

MRS. RAMON RIVERA, sister of the bride,
was matron of honor. She wore a gown of white
nylon organdy over orchid taffeta featuring an
orchid pleated cummerbund ending in wide
panels down the back.
Miss Marlene Townsend, sister of the bridegroom;
Miss Caren O'Connor and Miss June
Glover were bridesmaids, attired in pink and
white ensembles similarly styled to the one worn
by the honor attendant.
Merle Hansen was best man, and ushers were
Edward Martin, brother of the bride; Robert
Townsend, brother of the bridegroom; and Anthony
Nasca.
Pamela Hoffman was flower girl for her aunt,
and serving as ring bearer was Larry McCollum,
the bride's nephew.

A RECEPTION was held in honor of the
newlyweds at the Cambria Community Center.
When thev return from their honeymoon, Mr.
and Mrs. Townsend will be at home at 746 17th
Street, after May 5.
