Donald E. Schul, lifelong resident of Town of Niagara, born September 16, 1932, passed away at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital, due to complications following surgery, on Friday, November 27, 2009. He was the son of the late Ernest and Marguerite (Heintz) Schul. After serving in the United States Army in Germany, Don received an honorable discharge. He retired from Harrison Radiator after more than 30 years of employment. Don faithfully attended Colonial Village Presbyterian Church and was an active exempt member of Niagara #1 Fire Company. Don was also a member of various organizations throughout Niagara County, enjoyed being with his friends at the Duke Senior Citizens Center and keeping his birds well-fed. Don was well-known throughout the community as a helper and servant to anyone who needed assistance, searching for opportunities to help those in need. In this spirit of giving, even in death, Don chose to donate his body to the University of Buffalo Medical School. Surviving are his two sons, Jonathan (Sherrie) Schul, Kevin (Tammy) Schul; four grandsons; four granddaughters; a sister, MaryLou (Don) Hahn; a nephew, Jeff Cicio of Florida; a niece, Charlene (Art) Sauer and a great-niece and nephew. Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of life memorial service on Sunday, December 20th at 2:30 PM at Colonial Village Presbyterian Church, 4813 Kline Rd., Niagara Falls, NY 14304, where memorial contributions may also me made.Visit www.legacy.com/niagara-gazette for online guest register.
