- Donald Arthur Brydges, 84, of the Town of Niagara, NY, passed from this life on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at his residence. Born on January 23, 1933 in Niagara Falls, NY, Donald was the son of the late Arthur and Grace (Finley) Brydges.
Mr. Brydges was a lifelong area resident. Donald attended local schools and graduated from the former Trott Vocational High School. On September 10, 1955, he married the former Mildred L. Campbell. Mr. Brydges proudly served in the United States Army, during the Korean War and was honorably discharged on December 31, 1960. Donald was employed as a Journeyman Union Pipefitter for Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 129, located in Niagara Falls, NY. He also served as an officer for the union. Above all, Mr. Brydges was dedicated to his family.
In addition to his beloved wife of over 61 years, Mr. Brydges is survived by his children, Donald Arthur (Mary) Brydges, Jr., Susan (Russell) Keegan, David (Donna) Brydges, and Darin (Laurel) Brydges; nine grandchildren, Benjamin, Brandon, Erin, David, Zachary, Courtney, Jenna, Michael, and Simon; four great-grandchildren, Rylie Anne, Jackson, Adam, and Micah; one brother, Irvin (Lois) Brydges and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Donald was predeceased by one brother, Harry (late Doris) Brydges.
There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Friday, June 30th at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, in the Town of Niagara, with Rev. Laura Norris-Buisch officiating. Interment, concluding with Military Honors, will follow in North Ridge Cemetery, Cambria, NY.
