- Donald Robert Haseley, 97 years old, of Mooresville, NC passed away on Tuesday November 2, 2022. Don was born in Niagara Falls, NY to Caroline and Wilbur Haseley. In 1925 he graduated from Trott High School in Niagara Falls. After high school, Don enlisted in the Navy and served on a submarine in the Pacific during WWII. Upon his honorable discharge after the war, he returned to Niagara Falls and enjoyed a long and successful career with Dupont. Upon his retirement Don and Dorothy settled in Mooresville, NC. Don was an active veteran attending numerous submarine reunions in Galveston, TX and other activities honoring veterans in Richards Coffee Shop in Mooresville. He was the last surviving member of his WWII submarine crew. In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by Dorothy Haseley his wife of 66 years; one sister and two brothers. He is survived by two children, Bruce Haseley of Scottsdale, AZ and Rob Haseley of Mooresville, NC; three grandchildren Katie, Hilary and Chris; and four great grandchildren Luke, Baylor, Noah and Dak. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made in his name to the Welcome Home Veterans Richards Coffee Shop fund for veterans of need, 165 N. Main Street, Mooresville, NC 28115.
