A very lovely wedding took place
on Saturday afternoon, June 24, In
Zlon Lutheran church, Michigan
avenue and Tenth street, when Miss
Clara Maude Bowman, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. John E. Bowman, -of
2216 Twenty-first street, became the
bride of Mr. Charles Philip Hildebrandt,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Philip
Hildebrandt, of Ransomville. The
double ring ceremony was performed
by the Rev. Arthur H. Schmoyer.

Vases of pink carnations and also
palms and ferns graced the altar of
the church, while tall baskets of
peonies, delphinium and giliardla
were used in the chancel and small
bouquets of the same marked the
pews. The aisles were marked
with white silken ropes.
The musical setting for the service
was provided by tile organist,
Mrs. Elsie Stelgerwalt, and Mrs.
Nelda Kaeppeler, soloist, who gave
a beautiful rendition of "O, Promise
Me" and "I Love You Truly," During
the ceremony she sang "O, Perfect
Love."
The bride, who entered the church
on the arm of her father, wore a
beautiful wedding gown of bridal
satin made with batou neckline of
seeded pearls, long tight-fitting
sleeves which came to a point over
the hands and tiny satin buttons
used on the back from neck to
waistline. Her double veil was of
illusion with a halo of seeded pearls,
caught at the sides with clusters of
orange blossoms and falling gracefully
from her shoulders over the
train of her dress. She carried a
bouquet of white roses and liliesof-
the-valley centered with gardenias
from which fell white silk ribbon
streamers.
Miss Beatrice Bowman, sister of
the bride and maid of honor, wore
a floor-length gown of aqua lace,
with short puffed sleeves and neckline
similar to that of tne bride and
edged with tiny rosebuds. She
wore a shoulder-length veil
peach, topped with a band of flow
ers, and matching gloves and slippers.
Her bouquet was of Johanna
Hill roses and delphinium.
Miss Eva Bowman, niece of the
bride, and Mrs. Ruth Davis, bridesmaids,
wore gowns of peach lace,
made on the same lines as that of
the maid of honor, and each wore
a shoulder-length veil of aqua topped
with a band of flowers and
matching gloves and slippers. Both
carried bouquets of Talisman roses
and delphinium.
Mr. Clarence Hildebrandt, brother
of the groom, was the best man and
the ushers were Mr. Robert Coats
and Mr. Philip Hildebrandt, also
a brother of the groom.
The bride's mother and the mother
of the groom were both dressed in
navy blue lace with white accessories
and both wore shoulder corsages
of rosebuds and delphinium centered
with a gardenia.
After the ceremony a wedding
supper was held at the home of
the bride's parents, where covers
were laid for 36. The bride's table
was centered with a three-tier wedding
cake, topped with white rosebuds,
which was made and decorated
by the bride's cousin, Mrs. William
Lyons, of Welland, Ont. The
reception was also held at the home
of the bride's parents at 8 o'clock.
The house was beautifully decorated
with cut garden flowers.
The young couple left later in
the evening on a motor trip to
Washington, D. C, the bride traveling
in a navy blue dress of crepe
de chine over taffeta. Her accessories
were white. On their return
they will make their home in
this city.
Out of town guests attending the
wedding were from Mill Hall, Pa.,
Ransomville, N. Y., Middleport, N.
Y., Ridgeway, Ont., Wilson, N. Y.,
Youngstown, N. Y., Toronto, Ont.,
Fenwlck, Ont.. Buffalo, N. Y.. Welland,
Ont., Rldgeville. Ont.. Wainfleet,
Ont.. Port Colborne, Ont., and
Niagara-on-the-Lake.
