Vera A. (Youngmann) Lenz, formerly of Willow Avenue, Niagara Falls, died on Thursday, July 17, 2008 in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Home. She was 91. She was born in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY on March 22, 1917, a daughter of the late Fred and Anna (Edger) Youngmann. Mrs. Lenz was employed by Hooker Chemical Company in the mailroom for 24 years and retired in 1981. She was a lifelong member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, also belonging to the St. James Seniors and the John Duke Senior Center. She enjoyed quilting. In 1962 she married George M. Lenz. He predeceased her July 20, 2007, after 44 years of marriage.Survivors include her children, Ann Schmidt (Fred) of Colonial Village, Raymond Swann (Donna) of Colonial Village, Carl Swann (Sharla) of Greece, NY, Norman Swann (Cheryl) of Youngstown; a step- daughter, Brenda Cassoni (John) of Grand Island; a daughter-in-law, Joan Lenz of Niagara Falls; 16 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Saturday after 10 AM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, where funeral services will be held Saturday following the visitation at 12 noon. The interment will be held in Oakwood Cemetery, Niagara Falls. Memorials, if desired, may be made to a charity of ones choice.
