- Sigmund "Ziggy" Ciszek, 91 years old of Sanborn, NY, passed away on June 23, 2021 at Northgate Health Care Facility. He was born in Niagara Falls on June 29, 1929, the son of the late Peter and Mary (Kokoszka) Ciszek.
Ziggy was employed as a laborer at Moore Business Forms and Union Carbide for many years. He was a member of the former Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society. He and his late wife, Frances, enjoyed caring for their horses. He was a talented wood carver and he enjoyed golfing.
Ziggy was predeceased by his wife, Frances (Boswell) (Pendergast) Ciszek, who passed away in 2007. He is survived by his step-daughter, Barbara (Frederick) Jarzab; his step-son, George Pendergast; and his step-grandson, David Jarzab. Ziggy was predeceased by his step-grandson, Paul Jarzab; his brothers, Joseph Ciszek and Edward Ciszek; his sisters, Bernice Whipple, Adele Ciszek, Helen Gorczynski and Emily Hoover.
Friends may call on Sunday from 1 until 4 PM at the LABUDA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 356 Portage Road. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 9:30 AM at Divine Mercy Parish, corner of Niagara and 24th Streets. Interment in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
