NIAGARA FALLS —
Shirley M. (Pletcher) Dugan, longtime resident of Niagara Falls, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 16, 2013. She was 85. She was born in Lewiston on May 22, 1928, a daughter of Earl and Laura (Landers) Pletcher. The Pletcher family was one of the first families to settle on what is now known as Pletcher Road. Shirley attended local schools and then she married John "Jack" Dugan in 1948 and they remained happily married for 61 years until his passing in 2009.
Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping, and baking cookies and enjoying them with her family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling, especially her trips to Greece and the Middle East.
Mrs. Dugan is survived by her daughter, Gail (Lee) Gilpatrick of Mt. Holly Springs, PA; two sons, Mark (Mary Katherine) Dugan, and Shannon (girlfriend, Wendy) Dugan of Niagara Falls; grandchildren. Katy (Matt), Sean (Carlee), Tyler, Kayleigh, and Jack. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Aidan, Olivia, and Kera; her nephews and niece, Randy, Don, and Laurie; and her dear friend, Albert Rusk. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Joyce Mattice.
Friends may call at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Ave. on Sunday from 3-5 PM and 7-9 PM, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 10 AM. Burial will be in North Ridge Cemetery in the Town of Cambria.
