Wiegand-Voelker
Wedding Is Held
To Reside on Falls Boulevard
on Return from Trip.
BERGHOLTZ, June 27—One of the
prettiest weddings of ,the season and
one of much interest to the residents
of this village and vicinity took
place last Saturday afternoon, when
Miss Hazel Voelker, of Niagara street,
was married to Adolph Wiegand, of
the Niagara Falls Boulevard and
Nash road. Miss Voelker Is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward C.
Voelker and Mr. Wiegand Is a son
of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Wiegand.
The ceremony took place to St.
James Evangelical Lutheran church,
at 4 o'clock, which was artistically
decorated with cut flowers and
palms, and was filled with, friends
and neighbors of the bride and
groom. The Rev. Otto Bruss, pastor
of that church, officiated.
Promptly at the appointed hour,
to the strains of the wedding march,
by Lohengrin, played by Theodor D.
Grabau, organist, the wedding party,
entered the church. -The groom and
his best man, Howard Poulton, came
from the sacristy. The groom met
the bride, who entered the church
on the arm of her father, who later
gave her away.
The bride looked beautiful to a
gown of white silk chiffon trimmed
with white taffeta, it was on fitted
lines and toe length and had a deep
V neck line and puffed sleeves. Her
veil, of silk tulle, was arranged to
cap shape and had a dainty wreath
of orange blossoms around the head.
The veil had a long train. The bride
carried an old fashioned bouquet of
white sweetheart roses, white sweet
peas, lilies of the valley and smilax.
The maid of honor, Miss Dorothy
Shoenfeldt, was met by the best man.
She looked charming to a gown of
flesh color mousseline de sole gown
which bad several rows of wide
ruffles over the shoulders like a
cape collar and was sleeveless. She
carried an old fashioned bouquet of
pink Klllarney roses, pink sweet peas
and baby's breath.
The little flower girl, Jean Wiegand,
looked sweet with her golden
curls and a flesh color gown. She
carried a basket of pink sweet peas,
baby's breath land smllax tied with
pink satin ribbon. She wore white
shoes and hose to match.
The brides maids looked charming.
They were Elfrleda Voelker, Audrey
Voelker, sisters of the bride and Miss
Marie Campbell. Miss Campbell
wore a dainty gown of sea foam
green mousseline de sole. Miss Audrey
Voelker wore a yellow gown of
mousseline de sole, similar to the
maid of. honor's. Miss Elfrleda Voelker
wore a light blue gown of mousseline
de sole. All carried old fashioned
bouquet*.
The ushers were Melvta Voelker,
brother of the bride; Joseph Wiegand
and James Campbell. The head
ushers were. Ernest Andrees and
Frederick Wiegand. Just before the
ceremony, Mrs. A. Draper, of this village,
sang "I Love You Truly," with
Mr. Grabau accompanying.
The double ring service was used.
During the ceremoriy appropriate music
was rendered on the organ by
Mr. Grabau.
A reception Was held after the
ceremony at the home of the bride
to about 65 guests. The bride's
mother, Mrs. Voelker, wore a gown
of beige color silk crepe and a
shoulder bouquet of mixed sweet peas,
Mrs. Wiegand, toother of the groom,
wore A gown of navy blue silk flower.
ed crepe. Mrs. Frye, grandmother of
the bride, also wore a silk dress of
navy blue. The bride and groom
received many lovely and useful
gifts.
After a short trip thay will reside
on the Niagara Falls boulevard. Prenupttal
affairs Included a variety
shower by tha Misses Marjorle Raymond
end, Jennie Roberts; a mis-
cellaneous shower by Miss Frances
E. Buckhout; a bedroom shower by
the Amedon club, at the home of
Mrs. Walter Simpson. A bridge
party and grocery and lingerie shower
by Miss Elfrleda Bruss, a delightful
tea and. china shower by the Fidell
Amici club, at the home of Mrs.
Thomas Charlton, and a kitchen
shower by the bride's sisters.
