  Marilyn J. Mathew, 88, of Monticello, passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at her residence. She was born on December 23, 1932 in Muncie, IN to the late Thurman and Violet (Larimer) Hilton. On October 21, 1950, she married Gerald H. "Gerry" Mathew at the St. Joe Catholic Church in Reynolds and he preceded her in death on August 30, 2016. She was a graduate of Monticello High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church. Marilyn was a member of the Mother's Night Out Home Econ. Club in Reynolds. She enjoyed her aerobic club, bird watching, sewing, square dancing, traveling, crocheting and knitting. She won several 4-H awards for crocheting and knitting. She served as a volunteer at the library and for the White County Literacy Council and she loved her flowers. Surviving are five children; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Gerald Herman Mathew; a sister, Gwen Whitlow; and a brother, Jan Hilton. Visitation will be on Saturday, April 3, 2021 from 11 AM until the time of services at 1 PM celebrating Marilyn's life at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home in Monticello. Burial will follow in Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery
