Chester A. Haseley
Area dairy farmer was WW 1I vet
SANBORN - Chester A. Haseley, 63, of Saunders Settlement Road, owner of the Chet Haseley Dairy Farm, died Sunday (Jan. 4,1987) at his farm. He was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wheatfield, an exempt member of the Sanborn Fire County, and played the tuba in the Sanborn Fire Co. Band for 46 years. Haseley was for many years a baseball player on various local teams. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion Wheatfield Post No. 1451. He was also a member of Amvets Post No. 26 in North Tonawanda. He is survived by his wife, Lillian (Heuer) Haseley; sons, Daniel, Kevin and Randy Haseley of Sanborn; sisters, Helen Kroening and Mrs. Warren (June) Camann of Sanborn; and four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was a brother of the late Martin Haseley and Martha DeVantier. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Tuesday at the Dubois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, Bergholz, where the members of American Legion Wheatfield Post 1451 will conduct a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. today. Members of the Sanborn Fire Co. will meet at the Fire Hall at 8 p.m. Tuesday and will conduct a memorial service at 8: 15 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Herbert R. Maxwell will conduct services at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church on Walmore Road. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery. Contributions to St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church or to a charity of one's choice are acceptable as tribute.
