TOWN OF WHEATFIELD - Erna L. (nee Pfohl) Stenzel, age 89, of the Town of Wheatfield, February 24, 2011 in Crestwood Health Care Facility. Erna was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid and Altar Guild; she had also served as a Sunday School teacher. She loved animals and had work for the McBride Small Animal Hospital. She was the wife of the late Carl Stenzel who died in 1966. Beloved mother of Kathleen (late James) Carere of North Tonawanda and Kent (Barbara) Stenzel of Hamilton, MT. Grandmother of Roger (Martha) Stenzel of Renton, WA, James (Kristi) Stenzel of Hayden, ID; Kara (Billy) Tabor of Corvallis, MT, Jamie (Erik) Sumi and Joe Carere, both of North Tonawanda; great-grandmother of nine great-grandchildren; sister of the late Wallace and Gustav Pfohl. Dear aunt of Carol (Gilbert) Walck of Sanborn. Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home, Inc., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd. in North Tonawanda on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 AM from St. John Lutheran Church, the Rev. Ronald Oravec will officiate, interment in St. John Lutheran Cemetery. If so desired, memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church or the S.P.C.A.
