- The Rev. John G. Pfohl died unexpectedly at his home in Loyal, WI Monday (2 Nov 1959) after a heart attack. He was born here on 24 Nov 1904, the son of John and Eleonore Fahrenwald Pfohl. He attended Niagara falls High School and graduated from Martin Luther Seminary in Buffalo, Erie County, NY in 1928. His first pastorate was at Random lake, WI. He served for 22 yrs. in Leland, WI and has been at Loyal since 1955.
Survivors include his wife Cordelia Leuder Pfohl, a daughter, Mrs James Unmacht, Dubuque, Iowa, two sons, Ronald and Harold at home, three brothers, Sigmund of Niagara Falls, Louis & Max of Sanborn, five sisters, Mrs Philip Kroening, Mrs. Jonas Haseley, Mrs. Mervin Haseley, and Mrs. Marcus Haseley all of Sanborn, and Mrs. Gilbert Goeseke of Akron, Erie County, NY, and two grandchildren. Funeral Services and burial will be on Friday in Loyal.

Pastor John G. Pfohl
Pastor John G. Pfohl, 55, of Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal, WI., died suddenly of a heart attack on Nov. 2. He had a serious attack in the spring but had seemingly recovered and had returned to his work in July. Funeral services were held in Trinity church, Loyal, on Nov. 6, and burial services were conducted from Immanuel church, Cedarburg, WI., on Nov. 7. Pastor Pfohl was born in Walmore, NY.., on March 24, 1904. He received his education at Martin Luther Seminary, Buffalo, Erie County, NY.., and was ordained on June 24, 1928. He served parishes in Random Lake, Leland, Westfield, and Loyal, all in Wisconsin. . He is survived by his wife, one daughter, two sons, five sisters, and three brothers.
