- Miss Pfohl is Bride of Mr. Mervin Haseley
WALMORE, N. Y. July 25 - A beautiful wedding was solemnized Wednesday afternoon, July 18, at 3:30 o'clock when Miss Verona (sic) Pfohl became the bride of Mr. Mervin Haseley at a double ring ceremony at St. Peter's Lutheran church, Walmore, N. Y. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Pfohl and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Haseley, both of Sanborn, N. Y.
The marriage was performed by the bride's brother, the Rev. John G. Pfohl, of North Freedom, Wis., assisted by the Rev. Edward Grabau. ÒJesus, Lead the Way,Ó was sung by Miss Lily Haseley and Gladys Kroening.
The bride wore a beautiful gown of white silk marquisette with a sweetheart neckline and a row of tiny buttons down the back, the sleeves coming to a point over the wrist. She wore a wreath of orange blossoms and a long veil. She carried a bouquet of sweetheart roses and gardenias. Her neckpiece was a gold heart, a gift from the bride-groom.
Miss Eleanore (sic) Pfohl, sister of the bride as maid at honor wore a pink taffeta gown with a full net skirt. She carried a bouquet of pink and yellow roses. Miss Phyllis Walck, cousin of the bridegroom, wore a blue taffeta gown with full net skirt. She carried a bouquet of pink roses.
Little Martha Haseley, niece of the bride, was flower girl. She wore a yellow taffeta dress and carried a colonial bouquet of pink and yellow roses.
Master Ronald Haseley, nephew of the bride, was ring bearer. Mr. Philip Haseley was his brother's best man. The ushers were Max Pfohl, Erwin Pfohl and Sergeant Louis Pfohl. The bride's mother wore a green and white print dress. The bridegroom's mother wore a blue and white print dress. Each wore a corsage of red roses and gardenias.
After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bridegroom. The bride's table was centered with a four-tier wedding cake. Pre-nuptial affairs held for the bride were: Variety shower, by Mrs. Sigmund Pfohl; variety shower, by Miss Eleanore (sic) Pfohl; variety shower, by Misses Phyllis and Mae Walck; variety shower, by Mrs. Jonas Haseley, by the girls of the Specialty Inspection department of he Carborundum company. Miss Pfohl was also presented with a beautiful coffee table by the Specialty department men.
