- Ann Elaine Kroening (Pfohl) age 73 of Sanborn, was called to her heavenly home on August 20, 2016 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on December 31, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Erwin and Elenora (DeVantier) Pfohl. A life long active member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Walmore, where she served on many committees and held various offices over the years. She was united in marriage to Albert A. Kroening, Jr. on November 22, 1962. He was called home on August 2, 2000. Ann worked with her husband at their family business, the former Sanborn Milling Company, until 2002. Her hobbies included quilting with the St. Peter's women's quilting group, where she coordinated and assisted in shipping many quilts all over the world, shopping, sewing, cooking for her family, mowing the lawn and keeping busy. Ann's life was centered around her family, her faith in God, and everyone was always welcomed to spend time with her and her family. She was the beloved mother of Lynn (William) Lekki and Lee (Lynette) Kroening; cherished "mom" of Scott (Joelle) Pfohl; treasured and admired grandmother of Jarred and Betty Hebeler, Brianne Hebeler, Ian, Colin and Ella Kroening, Ryan and Nick Pfohl. Ann was also predeceased by two brothers, Loren Pfohl in 1960 and Eugene Pfohl in 2014. Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Services will be conducted in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Walmore Road, on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
