- John J. Haseley, age 82, of Lantana, FL, passed away on Friday, May 4, 2018, at the JFK Medical Center in Atlantis, FL.
John was born on June 11, 1935 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late Jonas and Martha (Pfohl) Haseley.
John attended Wilson Central High School. He served two years in the U.S. Army based in Fort Hood, TX, with overseas duty in Germany. Together with his wife Jean, they owned and operated the John J. Haseley & Son farm and greenhouses in Sanborn, NY, for many years.
John was a dedicated life member of the Sanborn Fire Company and served as Fire Chief from 1968 to 1971. John was also a member of the fire company band. John also served as a Town of Lewiston police officer with the rank of Sergeant, graduating from the Niagara County Law Enforcement Academy in 1977. After retirement to Florida, John worked as a heavy equipment operator.
John enjoyed deer hunting all his life with his son, brother, family and friends.
John is survived by his son, John (Karen) Haseley, Jr. of Lake Worth, FL; two grandsons, Matthew (Christen) Warne and Austin (Allison) Warne; one great-grandson, Mason; a brother, Donald (Susan) Haseley of Sanborn, NY; and a sister, Martha Haseley of Lewiston, NY. John was preceded in death by his wife, Jean, in 2016.
Services will be private.
