Notes - Roger Ervin Wendt, age 87 of North Tonawanda, NY, was call to his heavenly home on September 18, 2024 at Mercy Hospital of Buffalo. Born in North Tonawanda, NY on April 7, 1937; son of the late Ervin and Ruth (Broeker) Wendt. Roger served in the United States Army, then earned his Master's degree in education, at Niagara University. He was employed as a math teacher in the Maryvale School District in Cheektowaga, NY, retiring in 1995. Roger enjoyed woodworking, loved the outdoors with hunting, fishing and gardening. He was a lifelong active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, in North Tonawanda, where he previously served as an usher, Elder, taught Bible class, and sang in the choir. Survivors include two children, Sheryl "Sherrie" (Todd) Schroeder of North Tonawanda, and David Wendt of Golden, CO; and a brother, Jerry Wendt. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Elaine (Martin) Wendt on July 2, 2024; and two brothers, Noel and Leon Wendt. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church - Organ Fund, 453 Old Falls Boulevard, North Tonawanda, NY 14120. There will be a memorial service scheduled at a later time in church, with the date and time to be announced. Arrangements were with the DuBois Funeral Home, Wheatfield, NY.
