- Carol Elaine Wendt, age 86 of North Tonawanda, NY, was call to her heavenly home, to be with her Lord and Savior, on July 2, 2024 at the Elderwood at Lockport facility. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on January 16, 1938; daughter of the late Norman and Rosanna (Long) Martin. A 1955 graduate of Niagara Falls High School, she graduated from Bryant & Stratton Business School. Carol had been employed at Union Carbide, and also worked for her brother in law's accounting business for ten years. A devoted homemaker, she was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda, where she sang in the church choir, served as the secretary of the Ladies Aid, and held various other church positions over the years. Hobbies and interest included sewing, painting, making crafts, flower gardening, traveling, baking, but most of all taking care of her loving family.Survivors include her devout husband Roger E. Wendt, whom she married September 2, 1961; two children, Sheryl "Sherrie" (Todd) Schroeder of North Tonawanda, and David Wendt of Golden, CO; two sisters, Marian Miller of North Tonawanda, and Kathie Wendt of Pine Island, MN; a brother, Kenneth (Cindy) Martin of Washington State; and her "little angel" grand dog, Smokey.Friends are invited to join with the family, for a memorial service on Monday (July at 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul Lutheran Church, 453 Old Falls Boulevard, North Tonawanda, NY 14120, officiated by Rev. Ernest Green III, and the Rev. Bill Novack. A private interment will take place in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the church, or The Lutheran Hour. Arrangements were with the DuBois Funeral Home, Wheatfield, NY.
