Howard W. Catlin, 81, who worked as a truck driver for local construction contractors, died Tuesday (May 7, 2002) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a brief illness.
He was born in Oil City, Pa., and was a graduate of Oil City High School.
Catlin attended the Curtiss Wright Technical School in Santa Monica, Calif. He then moved to Western New York, where he worked as an aircraft mechanic at Bell Aircraft, Wheatfield, for several years.
He also worked for the Niagara Falls Gazette and several contractors.
Catlin was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, the former Elverna Haseley of the Town of Niagara; a son, Gary of Sanborn; three grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Services will be held at 10 A.M. Saturday in Rhoney Funeral Home, 5893 Hoover Road, Sanborn. Burial will be in Acacia Park Cemetery, Pendleton.
