- Life Story
Gregory R. “Greg” Haseley, 66, of Sanborn, NY, passed away unexpectedly from heart failure. Born on November 19, 1956 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Raymond E. and Alice (Gordon) Haseley. On August 5, 2011, Greg married MaryEllen (Nowak) Sloma Haseley.
Greg was a lifelong area resident and graduated from Niagara Wheatfield High School. On January 27, 2012 he retired from the International Union of Operating Engineers Local #463, working at Niagara Stone/Lafarge and most recently he worked for KWH and Wendt's Propane. Greg and his wife were members of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Sanborn. He was a life member of Pekin Volunteer Fire Company as well as Tri-Community Ambulance Services. Greg also was active in the American Legion Post #1451 in Sanborn. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed camping at Niagara's Lazy Lakes Camping Resort and dancing the night away when 90 West preformed. Above all, Greg had a generous and loving heart and would go above an beyond to help others. He absolutely adored his grandkids.
Greg graciously anatomically donated to help others through ConnectLife, Blood and Organ Donor Network.
In addition to his beloved wife, Greg is survived by children, Bryan (Lisa) Haseley and Jolene Haseley; step-children, Gary (Diane) Sloma, Scott Sloma, Derek (Kyle) Sloma, and Stephanie (Logan) Cook; grandchildren, Logan Haseley, Erik and Haylee Stopa, and Madison Haseley; step-grandchildren, Tyler, Kaleigh, Sydney, Cameron, Raegan, Sophia, and Ella Sloma and Isla and Edison Cook; brothers, Russell (Sue), Jeff (Kathy), Kevin (Lori), Glenn (Bonnie), and Brent (late Debbie) Haseley; sisters, Barbara (late Bruce) Haseley, Debbie (John) Galleciez, Joyce (Bill) Schimschack and Brenda (late Jeff) Marohn and many nieces, nephews cousins, friends and neighbors. Besides his parents, Greg was predeceased by his first wife of 30 years, Vickie Haseley and siblings, Robert (living, Dale) Haseley, Gordon (living, Sharen) Haseley and Sandra (late Donald) Slusser.
Knowing Greg's personality, “no stress on the dress”......come as you are to the services listed below and be comfortable. Maybe wear something NASCAR or Buffalo Bills in his honor
The family will be present to receive friends on Sunday, from 2-7 p.m., at the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007). Family and friends are invited to attend Greg’s funeral service on Monday, October 23rd, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 6167 Walmore Road, Sanborn, NY, with Rev. Kurt Jensen officiating. Everyone assemble at the church. Prayers of committal and interment will follow in Mount View Cemetery, Pekin, NY.
